Basic Electronics Part 1 ( Polarize Capacitor)

Polarize Capacitor :

An electrolytic capacitor (e-cap) is a polarized capacitor whose anode or positive plate is made of a metal that forms an insulating oxide layer through anodization.Electrolytic capacitors are polarized components due to their asymmetrical construction, and must be operated with a higher voltage (ie, more positive) on the anode than on the cathode at all times. For this reason the anode terminal is marked with a plus sign and the cathode with a minus sign.

Testing:

1) Set the Multimeter in Beep Mode.

2) Touch the both Probe of Both Point and Get Short Beep and change probe to each other and get again short beep. Then Polarize Capacitor is OK

3 ) Touch the probe of both point if you get continue Beep then Capacitor is a Short.

4) Touch the probe of both point If you Get No Beep then Capacitor is a Open.
